Yes. Driver service is available with every listed vehicle, subject to availability. The driver costs $15 per day in addition to vehicle rental. Included hours are 07:30–20:00, with overtime at $5 per hour outside those hours. Waiting during included hours is free. Fuel is the renter's responsibility. View chauffeur service.

In the unlikely event that you have car trouble, we have got you covered. Our phones are ON 24 hours a day and we will come and rescue you. If we cannot fix the problem at the roadside, we will give you a replacement vehicle so you can be on your way as quickly as possible. Always make sure you have your charged phone with you at all times, just in case..
Delivery and collection are free within Stone Town and at Zanzibar Airport. For locations outside Stone Town, a $20 fee covers both delivery and collection; the airport remains free. Send your pickup and return locations so we can confirm the arrangements before booking.
If you have an accident, please stay in your vehicle if it is safe to do so and call us straight away. We shall be there as quickly as possible. Your safety is our primary concern.

There is no mandatory deposit. You may pay a deposit if you prefer; contact us to arrange it and confirm how the remaining balance will be paid. For monthly rentals, request a vehicle-specific quotation and payment information before confirming.
The insurance excess is $250. Coverage conditions and exclusions apply. Review the rental agreement and ask us to explain anything unclear before booking.
For daily rentals, cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the rental starts. Contact us about changes within 48 hours so we can explain the applicable conditions.
Monthly early-return refunds apply to unused rental days: 50% with at least 14 days' notice, 15% with 7–13 days' notice, and no refund with fewer than 7 days' notice. You only need a valid driving licence and a local Zanzibar driving permit. Keep your licence, permit and rental documents available when driving.
Z-auto can explain and arrange the local driving-permit process for your booking. The permit starts from $30 per driver and is charged separately from vehicle rental. Send your licence details after your booking is confirmed so we can confirm the arrangements and fee.
No. Fuel is the renter's responsibility. Check the fuel level at handover and return the vehicle with the agreed fuel level recorded in your rental arrangement.

- We always meet our guests at their requested pick-up location with a named signboard or using either means as per our customer's request. It is good to specify your arrival date and time as well as if it’s at Zanzibar Airport or Ferry Terminal.
- If you hear a siren, it is required to move out of the way for emergency vehicles including ambulances, officials, police, presidential vehicles, and military demanding right of way.
- Do take a photograph of your local driver's permit and your international driver’s license in case of loss of the original.
